Celebrating the Lunar New Year with Innovation and Craftsmanship
To honour the Year of the Snake, we have created a bespoke digital artwork that embodies the essence of wisdom and transformation — symbolic traits of the Year of the Snake. This artwork, which features an intricate, sinuous snake, draws inspiration from our pioneering Spiropath technique, first introduced at the Monaco Yacht Show a few months ago.
While the artwork serves as a visual celebration of the holiday, the Spiropath technique itself represents the fusion of art and craftsmanship that defines Silverlining. Rooted in colour field theory, this technique masterfully combines hue, form, and movement to create mesmerizing visual effects. Precision laser micro-etching forms multiple overlapping circular patterns of varying scales, creating an illusion of depth and dynamic fluidity—mirroring both the graceful motion of the snake and the cyclical nature of renewal that lies at the heart of the Lunar New Year.

This intricate technique serves as a testament to how delicate patterns and precise craftsmanship come together to create luxurious surfaces. Hand-polished geometric forms pay homage to the meticulous artistry of traditional Chinese crafts, from paper cuttings to fine porcelain, while the advanced layering of micro-etched patterns pushes the boundaries of contemporary design. This seamless blend of heritage and innovation captures the true essence of the New Year—honouring the past while embracing transformation.
