Classical Elements - Water
Throughout history, humankind developed many concepts to explain how the world is composed. One common theory identified four basic elements: earth, water, air, and fire, collectively known as the classical elements. These elements were independently recognised by cultures across the globe, from Ancient Greece and Babylonia to Persia and Japan, all arriving at the same conclusion.
These classical elements have inspired Silverlining’s new collection of art screens.
“Over the years, we designed many bespoke art screens for our clients, reflecting their interests and aesthetics, with many of the screens made in an array of unusual media, from veneers to leathers, precious metals and mother-of-pearl to even semi-precious stones such as tigers’ eye and malachite. The screens decorate decks of some of the world’s biggest superyachts, walls of private residences across the globe, and offices of the most prominent businesspeople of our time. This year, for the first time, we are launching four, limited-edition designs of the art screens, available to purchase by private clients and designers alike, to decorate residences on land and sea” says Mark Boddington, founder of Silverlining Furniture.

The Pacific Tide art screen brings an interior to life with unmatched dynamism of the composition and detailed craftsmanship. Its design has been inspired by the Pacific Ocean - the largest and deepest of all the ocean’s, covering more than 30% of the earth’s surface.
The art screen features a mesmerising pattern of the surface of the ocean, achieved with the Silverlining team’s unparalleled skills, honed through continuous research and development into specialist custom veneer colouring and artistic airbrushing techniques.
The design has been crafted in blue English Ripple Sycamore, quilted Maple, and white Lacewood marquetry, mimicking the ocean’s fluid characteristics whilst the airbrushing in a multitude of blues, blacks and whites add depth and clarity to the ocean peaks and troughs.
Materials - Through-dyed English ripple sycamore, quilted maple and oxidised lacewood.
Finish - Light & dark blue, white airbrushing with fully filled gloss lacquer.
