Exterior Yacht Furniture 2024

At Silverlining we are exploring a radical approach to exterior furniture by using sustainable materials and advanced manufacturing. Identifying current exterior yacht furniture constraints allows us to push the boundaries of creativity and craftsmanship. There is a kind of alchemy that happens when we create our furniture; bringing together designer, raw material and maker to conjure something that is beautiful, refined and totally one of a kind.

Dining Table

Enhance your yacht’s outdoor dining experience with this exquisite round table, thoughtfully designed to reflect the beauty of water. The tabletop, finished in a pristine white lacquer, features an elegant laser-etched pattern of concentric ripples, reminiscent of water softly dissipating. The delicate blue etching starts at the centre and gradually fades towards the edge, creating a subtle yet captivating visual effect.

On the underside of the tabletop, marine-grade upholstery leather adds a luxurious touch with its 3D ripple texture, perfectly complementing the etched design above. Beneath the tabletop, is a sculptural 3D printed ceramic pedestal. As you move around the table, the asymmetrical pedestal reveals different perspectives, offering a dynamic and everchanging aesthetic. Its ombré colour palette, shifting from white to oxidised blue, adds to its ocean-inspired allure. A stainless steel column runs through the centre of the ceramic pedestal, providing strength and stability. The dining table strikes the perfect balance between art and function. Designed for yacht decks, it withstands the elements while bringing a touch of sculptural elegance to your outdoor space.

3D Printed Ceramic

Material exploration is fundamental to how we work at Silverlining and whilst exploring a new experimental exterior furniture collection, this has never been more true. In recent years, 3D printed manufacturing has grown exponentially and currently there are many different 3D printing technologies that allow objects to be built, depositing various materials by layering, one by one. At first, printing materials were scarce but gradually through research and development, it has been possible to expand the number and types of materials. When we think about clay and ceramics, we often think of the more traditional processes like thrown pottery, but 3D printers can extrude everything from Kaolin and porcelain clay to stoneware and terracotta, even concrete. Throwing clay and forming pottery is an art that is thousands of years old but 3D printed alternatives are bringing something new and unique to this ancient craft. Parts can be printed in shapes not currently possible with any other process.

Laser Micro Etching

The laser is a very versatile machine that can drill, cut and etch surfaces. However, it is the laser’s accuracy and ability to cut mixed media and create detail at the micro– level that enable Silverlining to add another dimension to their craftsmanship. Through careful programming, a laser can be used to etch graphic and decorative patterns into surfaces, which can be left unfilled as texture or infilled with metallised, clear or coloured resins. We have carefully curated six options that pair beautifully with the sculptural ceramic base. However, if you prefer something more personal, the choice is entirely yours. Our laser-etching process allows you to customise the design to reflect your unique style and vision. The possibilities are infinite, so why not let your imagination run wild?

Finishing

The exceptional standard of our finishing is one of the qualities that set Silverlining’s furniture apart. Every external and internal surface of all our pieces is meticulously hand finished – ultimately, it is the finish that clients first notice and admire. Continual research over 30 years has resulted in the development of many new finishing techniques.
